A Jane of All Trades!

I have been involved with theatre since i was a kid. My love of clothes was fueled by my aunt who worked at a thrift store. She provided many clothes in which I played dress-up. I also participated in History Day. I researched clothes and wore authentic pieces.

I have done all roles of theatre. This gives me an advantage. I have a greater understanding of each person’s role and this allows me to better communicate with my fellow artists.. In addition to my costume and scenic skills, I grew up rebuilding rotary engines and cars. I was the buyer, sales, marketer, and book-keeper for my family’s business.

I take pride in my work no matter the size of the budget. I am gifted in my ability to find or create things whether it is a costume or prop. My involvement in so many productions gives me an excellent network of colleagues and resources.

I am a member of Dream Theatre in Joplin, Missouri. I’ve been involved since the beginning, some 14 years ago. They welcome me back after each of my adventures. I have designed, acted, stage managed, and most recently, I directed an original show summer of 2021.

As you can see, this website has a dual purpose. It showcases my work in theatre as well as supports my blog on my writing journey. As I stated at the beginning, I am a Jane of all trades!

Currently, I live in Independence, Missouri with my husband of 18 years (although we’ve been together for 33 years!) and my two sons and two cats. I am still involved with live events. My most recent gig was as a game coordinator manger for Playbook Sports at Arrowhead GEHA Stadium in April. During the holidays, I was production lead for Enchant Christmas, an amazing light maze at Legends Field in Kansas City, Kansas. In between, I have been substitute teaching for middle and high school grades.
